Privacy Policy

Independent volunteer project. KnotTrack is created and maintained by volunteers for volunteers. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Scouting America.

Information you provide

KnotTrack stores information you choose to enter, including profile and service details, training records, awards, veteran-service history, notes, uploaded evidence, and profile photographs. My.Scouting CSV files are selected by you and processed to import training records.

Account information

When you create or access an account, authentication information is processed by Supabase and, when selected, Google Sign-In. KnotTrack does not collect or store your My.Scouting.org username or password and does not scrape My.Scouting.org.

How information is used

Information is used to provide record tracking, reminders, award progress, service calculations, exports, recognition packets, and synchronization across your devices. KnotTrack does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Storage and service providers

Signed-in records are stored in Supabase, with a local device cache for continuity. Uploaded evidence and profile images are stored in private, user-scoped storage. Service providers process information only as needed to operate authentication, storage, and synchronization.

Sharing

KnotTrack does not share your private records with other volunteers, councils, or Scouting America unless you deliberately export or send them. Reports and recognition packets remain under your control.

Retention and deletion

Records remain until you edit or delete them. You may export your data and permanently delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes your cloud records and user-scoped uploaded files and cannot be undone.

See the Account Deletion page for instructions.

Security

KnotTrack uses authenticated access, row-level database security, and private user-scoped storage. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive data.

Children

KnotTrack is designed for adult volunteers and is not directed to children under 18. Do not use KnotTrack to store youth member records or sensitive information about minors.

Policy changes

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies.
